CEAT System of Evaluation for Players
Note: A dismissal can be a catch or a stumping
Apart from the points earned by each player, the three adjudicators, Sunil Gavaskar, Ian Chappell and Clive Lloyd will be given the batting and bowling averages of all the players every month. As the cricketing year progresses and more and more players enter the fray, the CEAT Efficiency Quotient (CEQ) will be added to the judging criteria. The CEQ will be obtained by dividing the number of points earned by the number of innings played.
For example, if two players have earned 100 points but player 'A' has played 10 innings and player `B' 5 innings, the CEQ of player `A' will be ten and that of player 'B' will be higher at twenty. The player with the higher Efficiency Quotient will obviously get a preference in the final selection.
Period of Evaluation : 1st May to 30th April.
CEAT System of Evaluation for Teams
* Bonus points for Series / Tournament wins will be based on the no. of countries participating in the event. For e.g. two teams = 2 points, Triangular = 3 points, Quadrangular = 4 points and so on..., World Cup = 12 points
Note: The final selection of the International Cricket Team will be done by the three architects of this scheme: Sunil Gavaskar, Ian Chappell and Clive Lloyd. Apart from the total number of points earned by each team the judges will take into account the ratio of test matches to One Days played, the ratio of home and away series, the quality of the opposition, the number of matches played etc.
Period of Evaluation : 1st May to 30th April
Ceat T20 ratings:
The CEAT T20 Ratings System has been developed keeping in mind the demanding requirements of T20 cricket. Apart from players accumulating points for runs scored & wickets taken, there are additional points for deliveries taken to score those runs and bowlers receive additional points for their economy rate. Fielding points are awarded on numbers of catches and stumpings taken
Hence the formula for calculating Batsman’s points are:
These points get multiplied to the absolute strike rate of the batsman (strike rate/100) to calculate the 'Grand Batting Points'.
For Bowler's, they get awarded points for wickets taken as per the following:
In addition to the wickets taken by a particular bowler, their economy rate is also taken into consideration & accounted for as per following:
The sum of the 'Bowling Points' & the 'Economy Points' of a Bowler's 'Grand Bowling Points'.
In addition to the wickets taken by a particular bowler, their economy rate is also taken into consideration & accounted for as per following:
