The 7th Annual CEAT
International Cricket Rating Awards to take place in
Mumbai on 28th January 2003
Mumbai, January 21, 2003: “The 7th Annual
CEAT International Cricket Rating Awards”,
equivalent of the Oscars for the international cricket
fraternity will be held in Mumbai on 28th January 2003.
Established in 1995, the CEAT International Cricket
Rating Awards, based on a rating system, created by
three of the greatest cricket legends – Ian Chappell,
Clive Lloyd and Sunil Gavaskar, are the first truly
international awards in the sport of cricket. The Awards
comprise exclusive trophies and prize money worth Rs.
2 million.
The Awards for the Year 2001-02 will
recognize achievements of the best cricketers at the
international level across 5 categories:
• Ceat International Cricketer
of the Year
• Ceat International Team of the Year
• Ceat international Batsman of the Year
• Ceat International Bowler of the Year
• Ceat International Fielder of the Year
Apart from the International Awards,
the ceremony will also see some of India’s greatest
cricket personalities receive Special Awards:
• Ceat Best Match Winning Performance
Award
• Ceat Lifetime Achievement Award
• Ceat Cricketer of the Century
• Ceat Major Influence on Cricket Award
The unsung heroes of the cricket community
will also be recognized through two Special Awards:
• Ceat Best Coach Award
• Ceat Best Sports Media Personality Award
The winners of these Special Awards will
be selected out of a nomination list by a Special
Jury Panel comprising Mr. Ajit Wadekar, Mr. Ayaz Memon,
and Mr. Sanjay Manjrekar.
The ceremony is expected to be a unique
extravaganza with a combination of two of India’s
biggest passions coming alive on stage - Cricket and
Bollywood. With the Indian Team on its way to
South Africa to participate in the World Cup, the Ceremony
would provide a unique opportunity for cricket fans
to cheer for their team.

Mr. Sanjay Manjrekar, Executive Director, CEAT
Cricket Ratings, said ‘It is my pleasure to announce

which truly reward excellence in the sport of cricket.
