South Africa topples
Australia to be on top of Ceat Cricket Rating
Mumbai, January 10, 2003 : After
a horrific run against the Kiwis the Indian Cricket
team finally registered its first victory in the 5th
One Dayer at Wellington. With this victory India has
moved up into the Third position in Ceat Cricket Team
Ratings.
South Africa (78 points) currently is
at the top of the heap, thanks to their emphatic win
against Pakistan in the second Test at Cape Town. Shaun
Pollock·s side is closely followed by the Australians
(74 points) who have slipped down to the second position
with their losses in Sydney, first to England in the
final Test and then against the Sri Lankans in the VB
Series. India shares the third spot with the West Indies
(62 points).
In the individual ratings there has been
only one change in the top 5. Michael Vaughan (75 points)
with his brilliant century against the Australians at
Sydney has moved into a tie with Herschelle Gibbs (75
points) for the fourth spot. Virender Sehwag (65 points)
is currently in the 6th position. The top three remain
identical to last week·s with Chris Gayle (83
points), Rahul Dravid (82 points) & Jacques Kallis
(77 points).
Gibbs leads the Batsmen·s Ratings
with 73 points followed by Dravid (71 batting points).
