and Sri Lanka share the ICC Champions Trophy as well
as the
CEAT Cricket Rating points.
Mumbai, October 1, 2002: Rain
deprived India of a golden opportunity to top the CEAT
International Team Ratings for the first time during
the CEAT Cricket Rating year of 2002-03.
The ICC Champions Trophy finalists India
and Sri Lanka shared six points as the final submit
clash of the mini World cup ended in an anti-climax
in Colombo on the 30th of Sept '02. Had the match gone
the full distance, the victorious team would have bagged
12 points. Sri Lanka has retained their place at the
top of the ratings with 47 points followed by India
with 40 points.
In the player ratings, India's vice-captain,
Rahul Dravid continues to hold the top spot with 56
points. Behind him are England's Michael Vaughan and
Sri Lankan skipper, Sanath Jayasuriya with 46 points
a piece. Virender Sehwag, India's best batsman in the
ICC Champhions Trophy is now in the 9th position with
34 points to his credit.
