Australia
regains Top slot in Ceat Cricket Rating
Mumbai, December 20, 2002 :
There was a double blow
for India this week. Not only were they trounced by
the Kiwis in the first Test of the series, but they
slid to the fourth spot in the CCR Team Rating. South
Africa have climbed to the second spot by virtue of
their 4-1 triumph in the one-day series against Pakistan.
The West Indies, who gained 11 points through their
2-0 win over Bangladesh in the Test series, now occupy
the third rank in the CCR with 62 points. India's tally
of points remains 60.
Chris Gayle maintains his position
at the top of the CCR with a tally of 83 points, four
more than the no. 2 Rahul Dravid, who scored a fine
76 in the first innings of the Wellington Test. Harbhajan
Singh, ranked fifth in the overall player Rating, continues
to head the bowlers' table with 57 points. Dravid maintains
his top spot in the batting and fielding tables, with
70 and 9 points respectively.
