CEAT Best Sports Media Personality - Sharda Ugra

Probably India's best-known lady cricket writer, she started her career with the popular Mumbai eveninger 'Mid-day'. She has contributed two chapters on Indian cricket to 'New Ball', a two-volume compilation of cricket-related articles published in England. The volumes attempted to showcase modern cricket writing. She was part of a study undertaken in England in 1998-99 that attempted to investigate 'Apartheid' in English cricket. The findings revealed that blacks and cricketers of Asian origin did face a lot of resistance in the formal cricket structure in Essex. She is currently Associate Editor, India Today.
