CEAT International Bowler of the Year - Muttiah Muralitharan

Muttiah Muralitharan was declared the CEAT Cricket Rating International Cricketer of the Year and Bowler of the Year in 2000-01. He topped the overall CEAT Cricket Rating and the Bowlers' Rating for the second successive year in 2001-02 with a tally of 149 points. He took 37 wickets from 21 one-day internationals and an outstanding 95 wickets from only 11 Test matches. His 149 points comprised 144 points for bowling alone, the highest-ever number of points won by any player in a single discipline since the inception of the CEAT Cricket Rating. In doing so, he broke his own record of 110 bowling points, achieved last year.
